that's a shame. I wish I could tell you it's not that bad, but I really dislike java, lol.
is it your first programming language? the good news is that so long as you make an effort to understand what you're doing instead of just copy-pasting incantations, a lot of the underlying concepts are easily transferable to other languages

exactly.
it hasn't felt too foreign since i've used typescript a bit. but i cant think of a reason to ever touch java again after this.

like, i dont even understand what they're describing. and that's when i realised. i'll stick with the simple stuff.

I assure you that plenty of higher-level work is done in c++ and rust as well :^p

nothing wrong with choosing the right tool for the job, but you shouldn't write yourself off just because you're having a little trouble. you probably just don't have the prerequisite contextual knowledge to easily follow along, which can always be learned :)
