I finally bought a leverless fightstick the other day, which I'd been meaning to pick up for a while. I was more into fighting games several years ago, but I have some friends who are still playing, and I'd like to get back into things a little bit.
I don't think I want to pour a ton of time into training or anything, but it'd be fun to regularly run matches with people at the same skill level again!

the fighting games my friends are most interested in right now are kof (02 um) and tekken

I don't have a 100% solidified team or anything yet, but I've been having fun with athena, kula, chris, hinako, and whip. I would say hinako's my favorite right now.

I remember the transition from pad to stick was challenging, but I have a feeling this switch will be easier, except for maybe stuff like 360s

I've been trying to get into Mario Kart 8. I find it difficult to like. I'm too used to the wiggle drifting mechanic, and removing it throws me off so bad. The RNG thing isn't too great also, but that would be fine if I could overcome the drifting.

current progress: on lisa's 2nd playthrough, during the third crossroads. hopefully tomorrow i can complete it again and then move onto the joyful dlc

Radiant Dawn. I like the user interface a lot. The game feels polished in every way. My only criticism is that because the narrative is prioritised, sometimes you're given too many powerful characters and the list of characters you're allowed to use keeps changing unpredictably so it's hard to know who to train.

I like her, certainly more than I liked Ike in PoR since he was so weak he got one rounded by the final boss on my first attempt. Elincia's character is the one annoying me in this game, she should have figured out how to be a leader by now. I like RD better because it improves on many small things which made PoR feel scuffed, but I still enjoyed that game a lot.
