/meta/ - Site Discussion

Nice of you to visit!
I hadn't heard of Megidochan before, but it seems like a cool little active altchan! I used to read homestuck as it was updating like 10 years ago. I might lurk around a bit.

This site doesn't really have a purpose lol, it was created on a whim.
Some friends and I were having a discussion about the decline of forums and distinctive little sites with their own feel and community in favor of huge consolidated social media spaces (Discord, Twitter, Reddit, etc), and so a couple of us decided it would be fun to set up our own microsites, even if realistically they would get almost no traffic or adoption. I made this imageboard and one of my friends made a little phpbb forum, though it looks like that forum is down now.

Hm, to be honest, I haven't seriously attempted to grow it at all, so there's probably a lot I could do to improve it.

I actually deliberately started with just two boards because I was worried that spreading the already small amount of posts we get across a bunch of overly-specific boards would make the site seem even more inactive.
On the other hand, I guess this current format runs the risk of people not really knowing what to post about (anything/everything within site guidelines is encouraged), whereas more specific boards would give people a starting point.

I’m kinda team 1 board ngl. Also might not come back some time, that’s how it’s been for me with most altchans, I post a lil and like it but eventually get distracted.

yeah it doesn't really make sense to have new boards when there aren't enough people to populate them...
you can talk about any of ur interests in the main board!!! and if it somehow becomes super popular and loads of people start talking about it then maybe it would need a board of its own. but that sounds like something that would take a whiiilllleee >.<

This is me. Literally me. No other character can come close to relating to me like this. There is no way you can convince me this is not me. This character could not possibly be anymore me. It's me, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me on the topic of this not possibly being me, then I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that this character is me. This character is me, it is indisputable. Why anyone would try to argue that this character is not me is beyond me. If you held two pictures of me and this character side by side, you'd see no difference. I can safely look at this character every day and say "Yup, that's me". I can practically see this character every time I look at myself in the mirror. I go outside and people stop me to comment how similar I look and act to this character. I chuckle softly as I'm assured everyday this character is me in every way. I can smile each time I get out of bed every morning knowing that I've found my identity with this character and I know my place in this world. It's really quite funny how similar this character is to me, it's almost like we're identical twins. When I first saw this character, I had an existential crisis. What if this character was the real me and I was the fictional being. What if this character actual became aware of my existence? Did this character have the ability to become self aware itself?
